The Story
Told through 18 new songs, including "New Shoe Soft Shoe," "Practice Range Rap," and "Leader Board Blues," FAIRWAYS is the witty and sophisticated story of two people learning not only the game of golf, but also the life lessons it teaches. Sam is trying to learn the basics from Byron, his father, in order to play in his first business match; Kathy is learning so that she can play the mother-daughter tournament and help her mother settle an old rivalry with Nancy. The Pro and the Caddie offer helpful practice tips and observations, but these don't prepare Sam or Kathy for the challenges they face on the course. Sam has a lucky shot that impresses his boss, while Kathy's honesty costs her the tourney, but wins her the attention (and love) of Sam.
